Science and Technology
Step 1: observe and play with the collection of rocks
We compare, scratch and touch each variation of rocks
We smear the dust of the rocks make when we scratch them together.
Ryan and Nicholas are listening to the sounds the rocks make.
We even smell them!
We get an up, close and personal look.
Nicholas gets glasses, so now Katie has a buddy!
We work with a buddy on our net books.
Gabrielle and Alyssa work together to find our class website.
Veanna and Nicholas are very concentrated.
Now we wash the rocks to see if they change.
These were the three variations of rocks that we studied.
"Look, Miss Church... they look different when thy are wet."
Click 1 and Click 2.. these two could not click on an item to save their life. The touch of the mouse was very sensitive and they were new to it.. so cute!
Watching them navigate on mini little lap tops is so cute!
First graders love science... everything is science to them. Rocks, space, liquids and asking lots of questions. They also just love their time on the computers. They are navigating to my website, our class blog and some of our favorite learning websites. It makes me so happy to engage the children in these two wonderful subjects. I have a very strong feeling that there are future scientists and technology lovers in my class.
